Unboxing Malifaux - Crime Bosses

"It'd be a shame if you had an...accident..."

The Crime Bosses box contains enough parts for two miniatures...namely the Crime Bosses. It also contains stat cards for them though there are no upgrade cards.

Crime Bosses - Sprue
The box has one sprue in it split into three pieces (so it actually fits in the box one presumes) as well as the aforementioned cards. Here's pictures of both sides of them and close-ups of the sub assemblies.

Crime Bosses - Stat Card
Wyrd Games didn't like my publishing pictures of both sides of the stat cards so you'll have to make do with this...

Should there be any assembly issues with the model then they will be listed in the appropriate section and you can view larger versions of the smaller pictures or instruction pictures by clicking on them.

Crime Bosses - Instructions

Some General Notes on Assembly
Many of these models contain quite small parts so depending on how dexterous you are you might consider getting yourself some tweezers. Dry-fitting is also always a good idea in case a part needs a tiny bit of extra filing or filling as some of the fits are quite tight. Where the parts on the sprue are quite thin (chains, weapon shafts, cables and the like) then it might be better to remove parts with a sharp scalpel rather than cutters.

Female Crime Boss - Assembled
This model has a two part head and both of the parts are small. The breathing apparatus can be assembled before attaching to the models back and there's still enough room to line up the pipes but alternatively you can attach them one at a time but I found the parts wobbled a bit doing it this way. The weapon haft and flag shafts are both thin with the flags being particularly delicate. The left arm has a groove in the rear to accommodate the angle the flag shaft runs along that you can easily miss if your not looking for it.

Male Crime Boss - Assembled
The rear pipes are a terrible, terrible fit and will need extensive trimming to get them to fit in place. As a test I just lightly tacked them in place to see how much of a gap would be left without cutting or forcing them wherever they'd go and to be honest from a visual point of view no-one would ever know as the flags obscure the side view...this obviously isn't a perfect solution but is more than adequate if you're not confident with hacking away at tiny parts. It's also very easy to break the flag shafts while trying to fit this bit but unfortunately you have to do it in this order so be patient...very patient in fact.

Crime Bosses - Rotational Views
Here's a couple of rotational views of the Female and Male Crime Bosses.

Thoughts and comments are (as usual) most welcome
Should you ever choose to purchase something based on one of my features or reviews then it would be nice if you could let the company know where the inspiration came from...who knows...they might be grateful to the poor unappreciated blogger who sent you their way...if however I've put you off a product...well...you can keep that info to yourself...
